SPOTLIGHT ON CHRIST LUTHERAN'S LWML!

O Lord, what a glorious summer day!  Beautiful clouds and the bright sun are shining in my window as I write this article.  Thank You, Lord!

Where has the summer gone?  Soon it will be Fall and here at Christ Lutheran that means more activity.  There will be choirs rehearsing , Life Groups and Bible Classes starting,  Preschool begins, the Boards resume meeting, Youth once again serving those delicious rolls on the 1st Sunday of the month (I sure have missed them)  and  my LWML sisters in Christ beginning meeting once a month again.  I sure hope YOU will join us this year on the 1st Tuesday of each month (except January).   Look for details on what we are doing in the bulletin Weekly News and Announcements and in the monthly newsletter.

Missions are a main focus of the LWML and I would like to let you know what our LWML group did in 2013-2014:

$100.00 to Lutheran Hour Ministries

$100.00 to Apple of His Eye Ministries

$151.77 (materials for the pillow case dresses) Orphan Grain Train

$2,071.71 to 2012-2014 LWML Mite Goal .

Praise the Lord for the opportunity we had as LWML sisters in Christ to help these different projects and people in need.

The MNSODistrict LWML met on Convention June 20-22 in Mankato, MN.  Under the theme "Everlasting Rescue" (2 Timothy 4:18) 367 women  were reminded through Bible Study, hearing special mission speakers and other presenters that we are dead but through Christ we are rescued for everlasting life.  Our delegates LeeAnn and Rachael will be presenting highlights of the convention at one of our meetings so join us for that.  I will also hi-lite convention events in my future articles.

DON'T FORGET EVERY MEMBER OF THE CONGREGATION CAN CONTRIBUTE TO MITES!  PLACE YOUR CHANGE (we also except dollars) IN THE MITE BOX ON THE LWML TABLE IN THE NARTHEX.

Your sister in Christ,

Joyce Swedean
