Onward Christian Soldiers!

The theme of this year’s Stewardship Drive is Onward Christian Soldiers, #662 in the Lutheran Service Book/Hymnal. Most of you know this song, and you probably heard the tune in your mind as soon as you read the title.

On-ward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus, going on before.

We have remained constant at Christ Lutheran Church as Christ, our Royal Master, has led us like a mighty army, and as brothers and sisters we are treading where former members have trod (and we remember many of them!). We do this as one body, in hope and doctrine, in charity, blending our voices and giving all glory, laud, and honor unto Christ, our King! What has Christ’s mighty army accomplished here at Christ in 2025? Here are just a few highlights:

  • The Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continues to be preached from the pulpit each and every Sunday; each week worshipers come into this church building, joining together for corporate worship, prayer, and to sing together songs of praise to our Triune God;
  • Sunday School classes, Confirmation classes, and Bible Studies are offered on a regular basis;
  • Each week God blesses this church with the presence of our Anuak brothers and sisters, as well as the children of the Rukavina Home School Tutoring Academy, a Spanish Speaking men’s Bible Study Group, and many other Christian and secular groups that meet regularly at Christ Lutheran;
  • Faithful Teams of people continue to work on outreach activities like VBS, the SummerFest Market, Drive-through Prayer, special Christian fellowship activities, Children’s Fall Festival and Turkey Giveaway, Fall Craft Fair, various missional activities, special service and music offerings, and soon a Christmas Brunch;
  • Dedicated Teams of people continue to work behind the scenes on safety initiatives, Sanctuary Renewal, financial responsibilities, as well as maintaining and improving the physical building and grounds both inside and out for the necessary operations and management of this church.

As Christian soldiers in the family of Christ, there is something for everyone to do in this church family as we align with Christ and answer His Call as one body. Where will you ‘march’ in 2026?

  • Time – Your time spent with The Lord in private and in corporate worship, study, and prayer,
  • Talents – Your talents used in service to The Lord and His Holy House, and
  • Treasure – Your financial support for use in furthering His Kingdom here on earth.
