What are they? Prayer Shawls are knitted or crocheted together & mingled with prayers.
Who are they for? The shawls may be given to people who are ill/hospitalized, have suffered a loss or are in the midst of a life crisis, and in need of being ‘wrapped’ in care and healing. This is lending prayer support to others in a tangible way as a reminder of God’s ever-present love: it is a gift!
Who can do it? Knitters, crocheters and wanna-be’s! Meetings are optional (but encouraged!); knitting, crocheting and prayer is done at home too. This ministry can also be supported by monetary donations for the purchase of yarn.
Why do we do it? It is fun and worthwhile ministry! Past recipients of our shawls have been blessed and we want to be able to continue blessing the lives of those in need. Our shawl supply is getting low!
Future meeting days and times will be determined; some days, some evenings. Questions or to R.S.V.P. Call Debbie (Human Care Board) at 651-452-2238.

Christ Lutheran Church (that’s YOU) will be participating in a community service event to make sandwiches for the homeless and needy in Mpls/St. Paul area. Four years ago we made over 4,000 sandwiches in support of this effort.
When: Before and after Saturday night service on September 6th and before and after Sunday morning service on September 7th.
Cost: Each sandwich costs approximately 50¢ so we are asking you to prayerfully consider donating $5-$10 to help cover the cost of the ingredients. There is a box in the narthex for your donations. You can’t miss it – it is covered with pictures of sandwiches!
Everything including plastic hand coverings will be provided so all
you have to do is show up, donate, and make sandwiches!
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a
stranger and you welcomed me...Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of
these my brothers, you did it to me.” Mathew 25:35, 40b.
